Questions?We’ve got answers.
Everything you need to know about learning with ShftPlay — how it works, what’s free, and how your data is handled.
Getting Started
The basics — what ShftPlay is, and how to get going.
What is ShftPlay?
ShftPlay is a bite-sized learning and revision app. Instead of long lectures or dense PDFs, it turns complex subjects into short visual cards, tests your understanding with MCQs, and helps you retain what you’ve learned through active recall and smart revision.
What subjects does ShftPlay cover?
We’re starting with UI/UX Design — covering design principles, UX research, and interview preparation. Finance and Law are next on our roadmap, followed by Class 8–12 education and government-job / competitive-exam preparation.
Do I need any prior design experience to start?
No. ShftPlay’s UI/UX content is built for aspiring and early-career designers — you can start from the fundamentals and work up from there.
How much time do I need each day?
ShftPlay is designed around short sessions — most decks take 5–10 minutes. Many learners use it in 15–30 minute daily sessions, but you can go faster or slower depending on your schedule.
Is ShftPlay available on both Android and iOS?
ShftPlay is built to be available on both Google Play and the App Store. Check the store pages directly for current availability in your region.
How Learning Works
Courses, decks, cards, and the learning science behind them.
What’s the difference between a course, a deck, and a card?
Content in ShftPlay follows a simple hierarchy: Subject → Course → Module → Topic → Deck → Card.
- Deck: a small, focused set of cards on one topic — usually 10–20 cards, taking 5–10 minutes.
- Card: the smallest learning unit — one idea at a time, with an image, explanation, example, or key takeaway.
What happens after I finish a deck?
You’ll answer MCQs to test recall and get immediate feedback. You can then save difficult cards to revisit later, or move on to the next deck.
What learning techniques does ShftPlay actually use?
Eight, built into the core experience: Active Recall, Spaced Repetition, Pomodoro-style sessions, a “Second Brain” for saved content, Chunking, Interleaving, Retrieval + Feedback, and Progressive Difficulty.
Can I search for a specific concept instead of following a full course?
Yes. Search & Quick Revision lets you look up any concept and immediately review the relevant cards and MCQs, without working through an entire course.
How does ShftPlay decide what I should revise?
ShftPlay tracks your progress, saved cards, and quiz performance to surface concepts you may need to revisit. Spaced-repetition-based recommendations are part of Premium’s more advanced revision tools.
Free & Premium
What’s included at each tier, and how billing works.
Is ShftPlay free to use?
Yes. The free tier includes selected decks, basic cards and MCQs, limited search, basic progress tracking, limited saved content, and a selection of interview questions.
What do I get with Premium?
Premium unlocks full courses and complete decks, advanced MCQs, unlimited revision and saved content, detailed analytics, personalized revision, spaced-repetition recommendations, and full interview preparation.
How much does Premium cost?
Pricing details are finalized closer to launch and shown in the app and on our website before you subscribe.
How is my subscription payment processed?
Your payment is handled by the payment platform or app store you subscribe through. ShftPlay does not store your full card or bank details — we only keep your subscription status, so we know which features to unlock for you.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through the store or platform you subscribed with. Refund terms are covered in our Refund Policy.
Account & Data
How your account works, and how your data is handled.
How do I sign up?
You sign up with your email address, verified with a 6-digit one-time code (OTP). No separate password to remember. Signing up with your phone number is coming soon.
What information does ShftPlay collect?
Account details (like your name and email address), your learning activity (courses, decks, MCQ scores, saved content), and basic device/technical data needed to run the app. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Does ShftPlay sell my data?
No. We don’t sell your personal information. We only share data with the service providers needed to run ShftPlay, or where required by law — details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account directly inside the app. We aim to complete deletion within 7 days. Note that uninstalling the app does not delete your account — you need to request deletion from within the app first. See how deletion works for the full process.
How long does ShftPlay keep my data?
Only as long as it’s needed to run your account and provide the service, or as required by law. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Is ShftPlay suitable for children?
ShftPlay today is built for aspiring designers, students, and working professionals — not young children. As we expand into Class 8–12 education, we’ll introduce appropriate age-related safeguards as required by law.
